Q2: Praises and Prayer Requests

Praises:

• Education

  • More than a dozen students visited Diversicare to encourage residents, and another group of volunteers served at Palmer Home, demonstrating Christ's love through meaningful acts of service.

  • DC staff have been able to meet with almost all of the families of Education Programming students, build relationships and provide holistic support this summer.

• Emergency Needs Closet

  • We are grateful for the opportunity to extend our summer hours to be able to use that time to build trust and relations with those clients.

• Adopt-A-Block

  • We want to praise our volunteers for going above and beyond to make sure our community members feel welcome and surrounded by Christ’s love!

DeSoto County Dream Center Prayer Requests:

• Please pray as we launch our education program in both Horn Lake and Olive Branch this fall. We trust that God is already preparing the right volunteers for each location and ask that He would continue to bring caring mentors and leaders who will make a lasting impact on the students we serve.

• We want to pray for our community, volunteers and clients during this summer heat.

• Often over the summer we see an increase in the number of families in need of food while the kids are home for the summer. Please pray for families in DC experiencing food insecurity during this time.

• Prayers that we can keep the shelves stocked with healthy food, especially with the large amount of people we have seen recently.

• Prayers for the many individuals who have recently reached out for employment support. We’ve seen an increase in this need, and we are asking God to provide open doors and steady opportunities. While our ultimate hope and foundation is in Christ alone, we also recognize that stable employment is one of the ways He provides for security, dignity, and stability in people’s lives.

• Prayers that the Lord would open doors to growing partnerships with schools so that we are able to open a DREAM Backpack program in every school in the county!

• Pray for safety as we serve 2,000 people during the Kickoff to Success Backpack Giveaway and family resource fair in the midst of July heat.

• Prayers for the upcoming DCOB First Look Business Breakfast and that God would grow our team of volunteers and donors, partnering with us to sustain the new location and increase community impact.

• Pray for Dream Center staff and their families as we seek to share the love of Christ within our community. The enemy does not want to see this work progress.
