Letter From The Executive Director:Jenna Kern
As I was talking with a friend recently, we found ourselves discussing the different seasons of life. She shared that she felt discouraged because she hadn't been able to volunteer at the Dream Center as much as she wanted due to work commitments and the demands of this season of life.
I reminded her of something we all need to hear from time to time: life comes in seasons.
There are seasons when we are walking through difficulties and need others to surround us with love, encouragement, and practical support. There are seasons when work, family, or other responsibilities leave little margin for anything else. And there are seasons when we have the time, energy, and resources to serve and give back.
Each season brings different opportunities and different challenges, and God can use every one of them. The beautiful thing about seasons is that they change, giving us new ways to love and support one another along the way. God never wastes a season. He meets us where we are and uses each one to grow us, strengthen our faith, and remind us how much we need one another.
At the Dream Center, we want to be a place for every season. If you are facing challenges, we want to offer hope and a hand up. If you are in a season where you can volunteer, we welcome your time and gifts. If you are in a season where you are able to give financially, your generosity helps make our mission possible.
As you read through this newsletter, I hope you'll see God's faithfulness reflected in the many different seasons represented here. You'll read about our exciting new season of growth with the opening of Dream Center Olive Branch. You'll meet families like Niels and Annie, who once needed support and are now blessing others through their generosity. You'll be encouraged by volunteers like Grace, who turned a difficult season into a ministry of connection and compassion. And you'll celebrate the many praises and prayer requests that remind us God is continually at work in and through this ministry.
No matter what season you find yourself in today, please know that you are part of this Dream Center family. We believe God uses each season to shape us, strengthen us, and remind us that we need one another.
Thank you for walking alongside us. Whether you are receiving support, serving others, praying, volunteering, or giving, you are helping bring hope to our community.
As Ecclesiastes 3:1 reminds us, "For everything there is a season, and a time for every matter under heaven."
Thank you for being part of the story God is writing through the DeSoto County Dream Center.
