Backpack Giveaway and Resource Fair Website

Pre-Register here!Pre-registration helps us estimate attendance, but it does not reserve or guarantee a backpack with school supplies. Backpacks with supplies will be distributed on a first-come, first-served basis on the day of the event while supplies last.

Kickoff to Success is a community-wide event designed to help students start the school year prepared, encouraged, and supported. We are partnering with Kind Hearts 4 Lyfe for an event unlike any other year! On July 11 from 9:00am to 12:00pm at Latimer Lakes Park, underserved families from across DeSoto County will receive backpacks, school supplies, and a devotional, while enjoying a morning packed with fun activities and helpful resources.

Families can look forward to a free hotdogs and snow cones, bounce houses, community resource vendors, giveaways, entertainment, and opportunities to connect with organizations that are invested in their success.

Through our partnership with Kind Hearts 4 Lyfe and Homer Skelton Foundation we can provide 2000 backpacks for students in need to start the school year confident and prepared!

To make this event possible, we're seeking 250 volunteers to serve alongside us from 6am until 2pm. Volunteers will help with setup and tear-down, backpack and supply distribution, food service, family engagement, prayer, and creating a welcoming experience for every child and parent who attends.
