A Season of Growth, Gratitude & Hope
The past three months have been a season of growth, answered prayers and new opportunities to serve families across DeSoto County.
On July 1, we officially launched the DeSoto County Dream Center in Olive Branch, opening the doors of our new campus and inviting the Olive Branch business community to see what God was building. What began as a vision became a place where relationships could grow and neighbors could find practical support and hope.
Just days later, more than 1,500 students received school supplies and resources through our Backpack Giveaway in Horn Lake. As families prepared for a new school year, our community came together to make sure students had what they needed to walk into their classrooms with confidence.
In July, we also celebrated Community Day in Olive Branch, inviting families and neighbors to experience the new Dream Center for themselves. We gave away school supplies, shoes and lunch boxes while creating a day filled with food, fun and connection. It was more than an open house, it was an opportunity to welcome the Olive Branch community into a place designed to serve them.
As August began, another milestone arrived: the Emergency Needs Closet officially opened in Olive Branch. For the first time, families in the area could walk through our doors and receive practical help close to home. Food, clothing and other essential items became tangible ways for us to meet immediate needs while building relationships with our neighbors.
By mid-August, our programming was growing right alongside our new campus. Dream Learners launched at both campuses, and Dream Leaders launched in Horn Lake, creating new opportunities for students to learn, grow and be encouraged.
Our growth has even changed the way we use our space. The Dream Backpack program moved from a small closet into our larger flex space, giving volunteers more room to prepare and organize backpacks for students. The Dream Closet also expanded into an entire room to accommodate the growing number of students being served. Both programs have more than doubled since the spring, a reminder of just how great the need is and how faithfully our community continues to respond.
Then, in September, our 11th Annual DC Race 5K at Silo Square brought our community together once again. Runners, walkers, sponsors, volunteers and supporters helped raise funds and awareness for the work happening throughout the Dream Center. Every mile represented more than a race; it represented an investment in children and families across DeSoto County.
When we look back at this third quarter, we are grateful.
Grateful for every donor who has given.
Grateful for every volunteer who has shown up.
Grateful for every business, church, school and community partner who has said, “How can we help?”
And grateful for every family who has allowed us to walk alongside them.
We could not do this without you.
We are humbled that God has entrusted us with this work and allowed us to continue building relationships with the people who need us most. The past three months have been busy, exciting and full of anticipation as we watch God work throughout the Dream Center. And we believe He is not finished.
As we look toward the final months of the year, we are excited for the season of giving and the opportunities ahead to continue sharing God's love with our community. From Dreamsgiving to Giving Tuesday to Christmas Dreamland, there are many ways to get involved, whether through volunteering, giving financially, serving alongside us or simply helping a neighbor find hope.
